A co-worker of mine is selling the attached trailer. It is 52" wide by 96" long tilt. It is made by Haulin (purchased at Lowes in 1996). He is asking $525 for it. It is just the right size to use around my property (7.5 acres). Is it worth the price or what is more reasonable?

Not sure what he paid, but I believe Home Depot also carrys small foldable trailers. TSC has 4X6 trailers for $314. Not sure how the quality compares though.

Compared to the prices of some of the tailers and wagons I see at Northern Tool it doesn't seem like a bad deal if you think it is sturdy enough (hard to tell how sturdy something is from pictures on the internet). I'd take a hard look at the hitch bar and make sure that is plenty strong, if you put a lot of weight in the front you don't want that to bend. I guess that and the bed would be my biggest concerns. I'm not partial to plywood; I would wait for it to rot or delaminate & then replace it with some pressure treated boards or maybe some plastic lumber decking if there is enough cross bracing underneath to support plastic decking. Regardless, the price doesn't sound bad for the size and looks. Maybe offer $50 less and see what he says???

Of course you'll have to paint it blue & white to match your TC30 /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

New information. It has a brand new wiring harness (old one was chewed up by squirrels), and new tires (originals dry-rotted) and rims.

Maybe it's just because I haven't priced little trailers lately, but that price seems way too high to me. I would think $300 to $350 would be maximum. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I agree with you that a used 4' x 8' trailer is useful around the place. I use mine a lot for toting stuff and downed tree limbs.

I'd check my local Tractor Supply. I know that last year my local TSC had a 4' x 8' trailer with an expanded metal floor for about $300. Now the price of steel has gone up since then and it didn't have the wooden side panels but I'm sure those could be added for less than $225. Also, last year I bought a used 4'x 8' landscape trailer for my S-I-L for $200. It was old but very well built, new paint and treated wooden deck, spare wheel and tire, removable metal side panels ... very servicable. What I'm trying to say is that around my area he'd be asking top dollar for a used, 4' x 8' trailer.

It seems too high of a price to me.

Bob, I sorta like plywood for the fact that by the time the wood rots, its time to repaint the whole trailer and the best time to do that is when the wood is off.
