    Default Davis backhoe?

Saw in my local paper an upcoming auction with a 3pt mounted "Davis" backhoe. Never heard of them. Anyone with an opinion? Defunct company?

64 MF Utility 35 retired to parts pile.

    Default Re: Davis backhoe?

Davis also built loaders and such. Got one on an old MF Utility 35. I believe they are gone as a company. Get with the guys from the 50's 60's and they will know. They were a very heavey and tuff bunch. Don't think you would want to compare side to side with a Woods or Bradco. If all there and in working order, they will still do a job. Most run from the 3pt pump cause the early tractors did all they could to power their own fluids. Don't expect a lot of specific parts left on the self. You'll see most of them on older restored rigs at tractor shows.
