Three Point Leak Down

Kinda hard to consider this an accessory, but didn't know what other topic to put it in. See comments on leak down of the three point on different tractors and wondered if that is ever a problem on your tractor.

Massey Ferguson 245. The 3 point leaks down all the way in about 10 seconds. This was a pain and required chains on the mower because the three point could not be depended on to hold the mower accurately.

Kubota M6800. The 3 point is absolutely rigid and does not appear to leak down at all in a week or two even when parked. Almost too good to be true. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
Has anyone else ever noticed any leakage in their 3 point that causes it to leak down either during operation or when parked.

I never leave mine overnight with a load off the ground on the front end loader or the 3-point, but I've had implements on the back all day for ballast, and I've mowed all day with a brush hog, and I've never noticed any leak down on the 3-point with either the B7100 or the B2710.

I've never noticed the 3-point hitch leaking down when the tractor is shut off, but I expect it would, even if only very very slowly. Most cylinders leak a little, and almost all valves do.

It's unlikely that any modern tractor with position control on the 3-point hitch will leak down at all in operation, because there's a circuit in the hydraulics that maintains it at the height you've set it at, and this would keep the height constant, even if there were a leak in the internal cylinder.
