Last one. Darrel showed me the add on front to hold in very loose dirt/sand. It is hyd controled but timmed with the pan raise with one remote. I thought it was very slick. I told him about this web site, he might become a addvertizer here. In the movie the 4400 was in B-4 and B-3 gears. This was in very hard ground. it would be a lot faster than a box blade.

DDT,

Thanks so much for sharing, I'm in the process of attempting to add remotes for one of those little monsters. Or the one they sell (blade with scarifiers/no remotes needed). Boy one of those sure would be nice for that 4mi of dirt road I got. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Great pics!

Maybe you could talk with him about testing his different models if you have a lot of work to do. Being close, he might like that!

Thanks Ron for the idea. I asked Darrel if he ever had one come back, broke welds or for any reason, No was his answer.

DDT: Great pictures, I wish I had taken pictures of mine when it was new.

How is the paint wearing since you got it?

DDT: The paint is wearing great. The scraper only has the usual wear of paint around the cutting edge. I sprayed the inside of the scraper with diesel fuel before using because the clay had a high moisture content and I did not want any to stick to it. It had no dirt/mud stick to it the whole day. I did the same every morning that week and at the end of the week the scraper still looked new even though it had moved in excess of 1,000 cubic yards of dirt.

I plan on getting it back out of the barn this spring for another >1,000 cy project. Hopefully I will have the same success as I did this fall. One last thing, from our calculations, we moved the dirt faster with the scraper than we could have with a John Deere 450 Bulldozer, about 41% faster.
