Does anyone have experiences with Meteor brand 3pt snowblowers?. Someone locally has one that is a 2 stage, 4' wide. Aparrently it cost ~2700 new and they are willing to sell it for ~1600. Only used a handful of times. I've seen King Kutter brand new for ~1500 and am curious about the differences that would merit such a price difference. Are most 3pt snowblowers only single stage?. I have a Kubota B7500 (16HP PTO). Also, does anyone know if meteor has a website. Thanks..

Your price sounds high (for this time of year) - I have received lower prices on a 68" and a 74" Meteor by $150 - $200. Meteor does not have a website. I would add adjustable skid shoes and a hydro spout for my purposes.

......by the way, almost all newer 3 pt blowers are 2 stage. If you are looking a a used Meteor (single stage?), the price is way out of line.

It is a 2 stage. And I forgot to add it is a manual adjust shoot. I can't imagine what would have justified such a high new price. The person selling it is'nt a dealer, but someone who has a landscape business and had bought the blower to do some sidewalk clearing in the winter.

I purchased a 68 inch wide Meteor 3ph snowblower in April. It was an add-on to a used JD 870 that I bought at the same time. It's a two stage blower with a manual chute control. It cost me about U$D1000 (C$1500).

Any chance of getting a phone number off of your Meteor literature. I'm interested in finding a local dealer, or see if units can be purchased from Meteor direct.

The information that the dealer gave me is:

Walco Meteor Model 68.

It's made by M. K. Martin (no relation). I've not been able to find any website information about M. K. Martin, Walco or Meteor.

That's not very much to go on, but it's really all I have here at work. I'll dig out the rest of the info I have when I get home.

I have some info that might help you out:

Walco Equipment Ltd provided what looks like a copy of a fax entitiled "Partls List for 68" Single Auger Snowblower" The cover page has both a Meteor and Forage King logo. At the bottom it says: Manufactured by M. K. Martin Enterprise, Inc,. RR 4 Elmira, Ontario N3B 2ZA, (519) 664-2752/664-3621.

I live in central Massachusetts, but I bought my tractor (with loader and backhoe) and snowblower from EVergreen Farm & Garden, Orono, Ontario. They are a JD dealer, but they don't handle Walco/Forage King/Meteor. They found a new leftover snowblower at another dealership and made them (and me) an offer that couldn't be refused.

Good luck finding a dealer. Please post any info you dig up. I might be willing to add a hydraulic spout positioner, if it isn't too expensive.

The price is too high I think. I looked at a woods and a meteor last year, both 54" or 60", I don't recall. I think the woods was around $2800 and the meteor was around $2000.

I picked up a new Erskine 54" blower that had been sitting on the dealers lot for a year or two and was cosmetically rusted up a bit. Cost me $1100.

That price seems waaaay out of line. I don't know where you are located, but if the Northeast, the regional distributor for Meteor, Luck Now and Lorenz is Cummings and Bricker located in Batavia, NY. I have talked to Tim at 1-800-252-1552 or 1-716-343-5411. He can give you the names of the dealers in your part of the northeast. The LIST price for the 60" meteor is about $1400. The 68" is about $1625. The 51" ( must be the 4 foot you mention) only comes with manual chute rotation and requires a 15 HP PTO (I just read this from their literature).
