I have made several posts about the BCS two wheel tractor. I would love to run a PTO generator off it. It has a 1 3/8" PTO that "nearly runs at 13 hp" the issue is that it also runs at 990 rpm! is there an easy way to run a generator off this machine?

you could use pulleys. there are formulas to use for that situation..it depends on what speed a generator head you want to use. 1800 or 3600 rpm to attain 60hz. your prime mover BCS RUNS AT 990 RPM. say you want to put a pulley on it,and turn a 1800 rpm gen. say for example a 6" dia. is mounted on your pto(driving pulley).we know the engine rpm is 990.and for example purposes the gen. is 1800 rpm.
multiply the dia of the driving pulley(6") by it's speed(RPM's) and divide the product by the required speed of the driven pulley(1800). this would tell you that you would need a pulley on the gen. to be 3.30 dia. to turn the gen at 1800 rpm.
you could pick a size pulley for your engine that is smaller or larger,it don't have to be 6". just use the formula above and it will tell you what size pulley to install on the driven(gen.)
