Bushwacker?
That is a new one to me. Do you think Bush Hog would be the name you are thinking of?
Some refer to all rotary cutters as brush hog, and bush-whacker, but the brand names are like King Kutter, Bush Hog, etc.
Hope to help you out here.

They are junk. Stay away. Too much steel in all the wrong places. Not enough strength where it counts. Positively the last brand you should consider.

To much steel in all the wrong places??? 1/2" plate under gear boxes welded to 3/16 deck, 1/4" rolled I beam sides. Sound to me like they got steel in the right placed ( sides and deck) that is the part I have always bent anyway. Also carrys a five year warranty on gear boxes. Could you tell me a little bit more about more about why they are junk?? I am looking at the t-104 model.

Thanks for any help

We have had problems with downshaft breakage. The bladeholder on the stumpjumper is channel instead of the more common barstock. Wing cutting height on the 15 foot models I have seen is adjusted manually at the wheel. No way to adjust whole deck height from a single point like the rest of the industry. Blades are too soft and bend easily; also break out at the bolt hole. Machines are built crudely with poor fit and finish; and my standards for rotary cutter fit and finish aren't very high. 5 year gearbox warranty is unimpressive if one has to use it repeatedly; I'd rather have a 2 year deal on a box that will live for 5 or longer. These comments are based on experiences of three batwing units. I doubt we will sell any more, but it isn't my call. They are cheap, though.

We sell Bush Hog, Landpride, and Woods. And Bushwhacker. And if you had ever read anything I post here you would know I call them like I see them. Dmax asked for opinions, and he got mine.

Rick,
What brand have you had good luck with. I was all ready to buy a bush hog 3008 lift type before I run across bushwhacker brand. what do you think about the 3008?

Generally, I prefer Bush Hog over other brands. Of course I am not writing the checks. The 3008 is a good cutter and should serve you well. We have sold three or four without complaint. They do have a 3008 hydraulic offset model that is interesting, but I have never seen one in person. Probably substantially more money for limited benefit. Schulte is a brand that is well thought of in the midwest, but we don't see them in the East. Perhaps you could also check on them. SCHULTE Actually there are dealers in the East, just not in my area.
