As far as I know, there isn't a TSC anywhere in Oregon, or maybe the whole Pacific Northwest, but this is what their online web shows when I look it up:

<font color="green">
"Please check with your local store for the most accurate pricing information and product availability. Prices listed are subject to change without prior notice. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors and to limit quantities.
Quick and easy holes. Fits category one or two 3-pt. hitch. Nine or 12 inch augers. Shear pin protected PTO drive.
POST HOLE DIGGERS "

TSC # PRODUCT PRICE SHOPPING LIST
2118948 POWER UNIT ONLY $384.79
2119279 9" AUGER ONLY $114.52
2119287 12" AUGER ONLY $138.36
2121836 6" AUGER ONLY $106.28
</font>

So a digger with 12" auger would be $523.15, or about the same as the Wilco price I had.

Could that be a local sale? /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

That might be a local sale. When I checked with them, they asked for my zip code, (which is near a mid-west store). The prices they quoted you are higher than what I saw.

Rather interesting - the regional pricing. I suppose it reflects shipping.

Well it could be shipping, but it may also have to do with local inventory.

If a store gets too much inventory their "inventory turns" get to looking bad and it becomes worthwhile to clear out some excess even if the margins aren't good (from their perspective). It can be real hard in retail to predict what inventory to carry. If you don't have the products in stock you will lose sales, which hurts your revenue, but if you have too much product, it reduces inventory turns, which hurts your profitability.
