I'm about ready to add a mower to my new Mahindra 2615 and I'm uncertain as to which type to get. One implement dealer says rear discharge is best, another says that side discharge is just fine and besides a rear discharge RFM costs more. My own personal research suggests rear discharge may be better, but is it worth more? Ultimately I must cite my own lack of experience with either type and ask for some info from some of you users out there in tractor land.
Thanks, DMB.

I think rear because you can mow up close to things from both sides. Especailly if your going with an RFM you won't have to turn your neck around so much.

I liked the rear discharge RFM I had for a while, and if I were to get another one it would certainly be a rear discharge, for the reasons Murph stated...

The rear discharge provides these benefits:

1. no side chute means easier to work in close at times
2. when cutting longer grass no windrow
3. better clipping disbursement

At least this has been my experience as I have had both.

Our customer prefer rear discharge and the $1395 is a good price on a "First Choice" mower--Ken Sweet

Well bigtractor, your 1 word reply seems to be the consensus.
My own research favored rear discharge. Still some input from experienced users is helpful. Rear discharge it will be.
Thanks to all who answered, DMB.
