Thought I’d show my latest project. Picked up the hoe at auction for $2200 with a sub-frame. It is in good shape, all the pins are tight, just needs a new seat and so far one slightly leaky valve. The adaptation was fairly easy, I added a couple of cross-members to the sub-frame and bolt it to the tractor at the drawbar location. Added a couple of brackets to the loaders sub-frame for the front pivot point on the hoe’s sub-frame and that was pretty much it. I did build a crossbar type item that fits through a section of the hoe. I use it to lift the hoe into position with the lower 3-point arms, but it does help carry some of the weight if I leave it in the up position. The hoe has a simple hydraulic set up with just a in and a out which I will run off of my rear remotes. I plan to update the tractors main hydraulic pump to one of the newer higher volume models. However, I could not resist playing a little with it as is. It seemed to work well with the lower volume pump, could use a little more ‘umph’ but overall not bad.

Coming from a guy that purchased his hoe new take it from me, you saved a chunk of money doing it your way.

I'm thinking for you to get any luckier you would most likely have to win the lottery. You did real good! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Man, I've tried to tell you, it's KiotiJohn!
Seriously, you hit the mutha load and did a great job adapting that hoe. Now if you buy some Allis Chalmers Orange, I think you can make it look right. John

John, I knew you would have something to say about my name choices! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mike, yes I have been very lucky with this tractor. I found the tractor in like new condition with only 90 hours on it. I got the tractor, loader, a box blade, and a regular grader blade all for 9K and now a decent price on the hoe. I could not be happier.

You did do well. That's a very good tractor isn't it? The newer model is even better, but costs a BIT more. John

You sure are buying it right. The deals you're finding are far and few between. Good luck with your BH. Gerard
