Upon spray painting the "bad spots" on my tiller, the "bad spots" was a very poor way of shipping and stacking tillers by First Choice, anyway I've found out that First Choice had AWFUL paint jobs... Horrible... Sad. Sad. Sad.
One of the things advertise is "chip proof paint". There's no truth to this.. It chips and flakes off. I have HUGE flakes all over the tiller. Huge, I have several spots bigger than a quarter, one spot the size of a grapefruit. I didn't go over the whole unit but there is an issue with First Choice paint jobs.
The tiller has been a workhorse, but not worked that much. 3 or 4 years old and I till the garden in the spring (about 1/2 acre) and then again in the fall. Two years the tiller stayed in the dry thru the winter. Another year covered by a tarp.
I have a Fred Crain rotary cutter thats about the same age and it spent a year inside thru the winter, the rest outside. I've used it many, many, many hours in pretty rough conditions. There's plenty of scratches but no flaking paint, now chipped paint.
Now, I will reconsider buying First Choice implements for this one reason.
