New Jinma 6\" Chipper!
Here is one of my new tools that I picked up this weekend. Really does a job on the branches. I put 4-5" material through it and it was a real champ! New tractor is due in next saturday after they install the backhoe so it'll probably work even better. The old IH 400 did pretty good though.

Re: New Jinma 6\" Chipper!
Tim, what's your new tractor gonna be? I'm an old Farmall fan myself. As you know, you're gonna have to get a pretty good size CUT to match the guts in that 400. As you also know, I hope your new tractor will last the 50 or so years that that 400 has made it. Question: What kind of 3 pt hitch is that? (Did your 400 come with a 2 pt?) BobG in VA who was thinking about running a chipper with his "measly" Farmall 230 that "only" dynos at 32 HP.

Re: New Jinma 6\" Chipper!
BobG,
My new tractor is a mahindra 6500 4wd with a bradco 511. It is a 65 horse but from what I have read it dynos around 70. It's a little high for the chipper that is rated at 50 but I think as long as I take it easy it will be okay. Based on how it worked with the 50horse 400 it'll be fine. The chipper only slowed the engine down on a piece I would have called a decent tree! It really eats that stuff up!
I think you would be fine with a 25+ horse tractor and this chipper. Small branches dont even make it hiccup. It's the 4" + stuff that makes it grunt a bit.

Re: New Jinma 6\" Chipper!
woops, forgot about your 3pt question. I am not sure of the brand as I bought it used and it has no markings. I thought it was a savinaugh, but it has chain supports where the savinaugh has bars. I really enjoyed the 2 years I had the 400. Just isn't that safe with the old brakes and NF on my hills. The mahindra has wet disc and a rops, and should be a decent bit beefier in the HP category. I'll sure miss the put put put of the smooth 400 though....

Re: New Jinma 6\" Chipper!
Tommy,
Will keep that in mind for sure. I would recommend this chipper to anyone who is on a budget but needs the large capacity. It is really working out for me! So much fun to see brush piles turn in to animal bedding and landscaping material!
I did enough yesterday in a couple hours to fill this trailer heaping and 3 large garbage tubs. Sure beats $5/bag or $50 a truckbed full.
