I'm a big fan of Midwest brand implements, they are very well designed and while not the bargain basement in terms of price, based on a "value for the $$$" arguement, they are well made, well designed and I think worth the price.

I went shopping for some additional implements and found that Midwest is selling a lot of implements to Kioti and under the Kioti brand label. That is good for folks who want orange implements because any Kioti dealer can now get you some selected implements made by Midwest. For those folks who want Midwest in shades of GREEN or BLUE to match their brands of tractors, it apparently is making Midwest a bit scarce at independant dealers.

I hope it doesn't drive up the price of Midwest equipment as the laws of supply & demand kick in! Hopefully Midwest can ramp up their production to meet the demand. It would be a shame to see dealers switch to other brands because they can't get inventory of a good, modest price, high quality line of implements.

Midwest signed a deal to make stuff for Bush Hog and the other colors are going to Bush Hog. Midwest primary focus is Kioti and Bush Hog their independent dealers will suffer shortages on all items.

Orange works for me. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Seems like Corriher has them in Blue though.

I checked with Corriher, they have some blue, some green but not the full line of stuff they used to have; and they didn't have the implement I needed in ANY color. My local dealer is taking special orders and couldn't give me a delivery date. Tarheel tractor, where I ended up ordering from, had to substitute a the next model up (same size, but better grade item) in one of the two implements I ordered. Other people I contacted had limited stock, and sizes were limited, color was not the issue so much as the fact that I only found one dealer who had both items and since I was paying freight on the landscape rake it made sense to ship 2 implements to get a better shipping rate.

It really is a shame because their implements are really nice quality.

I try to buy local when I can, but I have to get 2 implements shipped 1/2 way across the US just so I can get them. I think many others would simply switch brands. And I did consider doing that. I probably would have bought Buhler Farm King from the guy closest to me, but he didn't have one of the 2 things in stock. I was less concerned about the color and more concerned about getting what I wanted and didn't want to run all over getting the area looking for stuff, but with implements I like well designed units. I don't like the Frontier box blades, but I like their regular blade. The landscape rakes are nice. Buhler has nice rakes and box blades, but I like Midwest's designs a little bit better on both. Land Pride rusts too easy, in fact I've never seen anything from them that wasn't rusty (including the tiller I own that I store INSIDE when not in use). Maybe I'm just picky!!!

hey, as long as it works and is the right size for my tractor who cares what color it is......blue, green, black, purple or my favorite glow in the dark yellow.....perfect for those drives down the road at nite......makes people think they have come up on a UFO..... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Bob,
The REALLY bad thing on the availability is Midwest implements are made right in Illinois. I had heard at one time that another big customer of theirs is an automotive manufacturer. Gotta build stuff for the customer who pays the bills...... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You need to check your sources on that. Better yet call Jim Ozee at Midwest. He's the owner and I called with just that question. They are not going to stop supporting the dealer network and if anything the supply will go up since they havve much more capacity than they are producing now. I would look for them to be signing a few other OEM agreements also. The offer a tru Kubota orange also. I have two attachments in that color.

I have a couple of Midwest items and they really are very good for the money. I actually like the Gray Midwest stuff (Kubota frame/rops color) better than the orange. I have one of each.
