Hyd Quick connects

Only down side to quick connects is they can leak. Don't know if mine were supplied by New Holland or the dealer, but they are pretty worthless. Get some good ones! Ask around and find a coupler brand with a good reputation.

Have_Blue I have noticed the same thing myself. The two Pioneer couplers that we mounted for the front grapple attachment both seep oil. I'm thinking of replacing them already to keep the mess on the pole barn floor to a minimum.

You need to get some Parker FC series no spill connect-under pressure they are the best Quick Connects. "IMO"

I reported the same problems with my QD sometime ago. I was told on TBN that they needed to be cleaned. That is not the problem. They leak because of the design and quality. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Ron maybe you and I both need to find some of those Parker quick connects.

Is it the FC connectors in general that are better or is it Parker FC in particular that is better than the other FC manufacturers? The reason I asked is it takes a lot of messing around to change hydraulic attachments on my tracked loader, even after releasing the residual pressure. I was thinking maybe one of the loader's connectors is damaged and trapping pressure within itself. If you're strong enough to get it about half way on, it goes on easiily the rest of the way.

Mike
I have solved the leak problem by installing a hose end QD with a plug in it. This has stopped all the leaks when there is not a hose attached.

Ron actually in our case it's the set of quick couplers that are forward and mate to the grapple.

They are the Pioneer brand purchased from TSC and tend to seep even when connected.

Really need to do something as they are making a mess in the pole barn on the concrete floor.

Thanks for all of your replies. I'm beginning to see why the dealer didn't install the quick connects. I have almost $25 in the 4 fittings to mount them to the hoses. The local tractor dealer, Smith Valley Garage in Nevada, had 3 of the 4 in stock at a great price. Had to wait to get back to Sacramento and buy the 4th from the parker dealer. Needed a 90 degree out of the pump to protect the coupler a little better. Have no idea what brand the quick connects are, they are the ones that Koyker would normally supply with the loader. Should have the last one on and get to refill the fluid and test this weekend after we return to NV. Yes the loader stands did come with it and are tucked into the frame right where they should be. Will take the loader off for the first time after the test. Thanks again,
Chris

Mike,
Try painting them orange /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Seriously, I bought my quick couplers for my grapple from my dealer. I don't know what brand they are but I have no runs, drips or errors /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif.
