That's what I thought Mike, thanks. 502310 is a KK catalog part number - stores call them vendor numbers - as opposed to the actual TSC item number. Three bars on the head indicate it's a Grade 5 bolt, but the JH doesn't help - with the thread count question anyway.

Sorry should have mentioned that these are fine thread.

)

Maybe so Norm, but it is farther than that.
It is 25 miles to this side of Chattanooga.
Then thru Chattanooga and into north Georgia.
Probably at least 50 miles. (See Map)
By road it is about a 1.5 hour trip one way and across a mountain.
With gas at about $2.25/gallon I ain't making no special trips.
I'll catch someone going that way or wait till I am going.
I know somebody who will be rite by there tomorrow but are they open on Sunday.

I was gonna ask if it was a fine thread or not.
So ya'll already answered that question.
1/2inch x 1.25 LH fine thread.

Currently I am looking for the shipping cost from TSC.
See if I can order the bolt.

Thanks.

Bear my thoughts would be that if you don't want to make the trip call a TSC, pay by credit card and have them sent UPS to your place.

I do the same thing when I'm at the store, need something they don't have in stock, and don't want to make a return trip to make the pick up.

UPS can't be as much as the gasoline these days in most cases.

Well, I called TSC in Georgia today and they didn't have it.
So good thing I didn't make the trip down there.
So I called the TSC up in Crossville and they have it.
Crossville TN is 50 miles in the other direction.
Someone I know is going there today so they are picking this up for me while there.

I called all over Chattanooga. Nobody had this bolt.
Walter A Woods company offered to make one for me.
This is a real oddball bolt. Now I will have spares.

Thanks.

Woods company I was referring to is Woods Implements. They make just about everything that attaches to a tractor from 3pt implements (mowers, brush hogs, blades, tillers, etc.) to FELs.

You can find left hand thread bolts from the Sovema finishing mower company in Memphis TN. at sovema@sovemausa.com. Super nice people. I bought a mower with a bolt missing. He sent me 2 bolts at no charge. What brand is your mower? I know Sovema and at least some Woods mowers take left hand bolts. Did you finally get the bolt off? If you did, and the threads are still good, grind the head down to where it will fit inside a nut. Insert the ground down bolt head into the nut but don't push it all the way through. Weld it, grind off the excess and you've replaced the bolt head. But remember left hand threads when you take it off next time.

Bad idea. Heat changes the tensile properties of the bolt. The correct blade bolt should break away when striking an immovable object - like a shear pin. Modify the bolt, and you'll likely break something else instead.

It is a BigBee finish mower. Cross reffed it with a KK.
I finally found the bolts at TSC in Crossville.
Got 3 of them and replaced the stripped one.
Already mowed half the property with it.
Will be putting the others up for another time.
Got it all fixed now.
Thanks.

One of my blades is not turning with the other two on my finish mower, is it a shear bolt that has broke? I can spin it with my hand and the others don't move.
