Recently I twisted up the PTO drive shaft and bent the gearbox on my Eurospand Spreader. So I called the distributer and the dealer to get a quote, and to my surprise the cost at $495 was within 30 bucks of the cost of a new spreader - same model. So I sent an email to the Manufacturer and asked for a little help /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif. Well they provided me with the websites of distributers in Texas and CA, and low and behold the proice was $271 to my door. I do have local loyalty, but it does pay to shop. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I agree completely. I like supporting my local merchants, but not to the extent of feeling robbed. Dad always said he screwed up when he taught me how to read. I use the internet to compare. At least I know what I can get something for. I will pay a little extra for a product locally, but not a huge amount.

Yes I was totally surprised with the local discount /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif, as they wanted $530 for a new unit and $495 for the gearbox. So that is why I went into the shopping mode and had good luck. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
