I am thinking of buying a grass catcher for my BX2200 and I was hoping to get some feedback from other people who have used Kubota's grass catcher model GCK60-BX. Does it do a good job of picking up grass and leaves? Is it easy to put on and take off?

My dealer is offering it for $1700, Is this the going price? Has anyone found something better at a better price.

Thanks for your help.

You might have a better response to your question if it were placed in the Kubota forums. Possibly if you ask, you might be able to get it moved there for better visibility.....

answer to your first question.... YES...... second question.... Difficult.....

rph1,

I have the bagger on my 2230, as a matter of fact I just got done with lthe awn. It was wet, about six inches high and the 2230 and bagger worked perfect! I paid $1600 so your in the ball park. If you need to have that finished look (I do) then I think it’s worth it. I have not tried to take it off yet but I hear it’s a pain.

Good luck!

Mike

I think the BX catcher does an excellent job also. I purchased mine used for $1000. I find it harder to install that to remove. This fall I plan to make a dolly for mine to facilitate installation and removal.

A little bit of playing and you can develop a system that will work for your particular bagger. Here is my system (direct from Kubota), it may work for you this way or you may need to adjust it slightly. I am now down to about 10 minutes to install the bagger and 'maybe' 5 minutes to remove it. Most of that time is dealing with the stupid sway adjusters. (I've got to get that B7610 mod done!!)

As far as function is concerned, the OEM bagger is top shelf in my opinion. It does a great job on my oak leaves and the out-law's pine needles not to mention grass clippings. The only short-coming (to some people, not me) is it only holds 9 bushels. I wouldn't want any more than that because the bags would bee too heavy or the weight in a "trailer" type would leave ruts.

I'm very satisfied with the unit, and recommend it often. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

rph1 Where are you located??? I might have a catcher for sale with very low hours. Let me know if you are interested. I sold my BX22, but the guy who bought it told me he didn't want the catcher. He hasn't picked it up yet so he might want to get rid of it. By the way the catcher works great. It is a little difficult putting on and removing.
