How do I know if my tiller has a slip clutch?

It is a Land Pride 1050 tiller and it appears to have one but its not the same as the picture in the manual and I had trouble trying to adjust it. it has 8 bolts on it.

I will try and gat a pic.
thanks in advance

Along with the 8 bolts does it have 4 allen screws too?

Edit here, When I went to the homepage your unit could have a shear pin instead. But the 8 bolts makes me think you have the slip clutch??

No it does not have the 4 allen screws like the manual shows. It has 8 allen bolts that are fully tight. after contacting my dealer (who didn't know how to adjust this unit either) who contacted L-P I found out that Land Pride changed the clutch system without udating the manual /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.

so LandPride faxed an update and all is better now.

I ran this unit for about an hour with out adjusting the clutch, I hope no dammage was done /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

thanks for the reply...

It is unlikely that you will never will see that in print because of liability issues. Dealers are even not even told of the factory settings. As a manufacturer we know the settings because we request them from the PTO manufacturers and test the PTO's to see if they comply with our engineering.

Im sorry, I meant to say the initial "run in" I do believe its called. where you loosen the clutch plates to make sure they are not frozen together.
