Attachments/Implements - I didn\'t know?

Browsing through the Kioti page and clicked on products. I found a link for attachments and a link for implements.

When I click on attachments I find a loader and a backhoe.
When I click on implements I find aerators, box blades, brush hog, landscape rackes, tillers and so on.

So is an attachment something that has a permanent bracket but removeable such as the loader or backhoe and an implement is something you just hook on to your tractor and go?? I guess always thought there was really no difference.

Re: Attachments/Implements - I didn\'t know?

I reckon a hoe could be both as there are 3pt and subframe mount for 3pt type. So I don't know if that's actually a rule. What about a cutter? Think of that as an implement? Mount it to the front or side and it becomes an attachment. Implement for an attachment? Hmmmmm......
Then there are attachments for attachments.

Murph, I don't pretend to know the definitive difference, but every "implement" you mentioned can hook to essentially any tractor with a standard 3PH. The "attachments" all require a special adapter for mounting and are semi-permanently mounted.

I can't take a loader attachment off my New Holland and hook it to a Kioti without modification; however, I can take rotary cutter or boxblade and hook them to almost any brand of tractor with no modification. I think that's the difference.

Having done some editing for Kioti, I would simply guess that the only reason they have a difference is that someone suggested it sounded better.

THAT SOUNDS LIKE A VERY GOOD EXPLANITION /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Better than anything i could think of and it makes sense also. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I guess backhoe "implement" sounds kinda funny even though most modern are 3pt compatible. Just what we're used to I guess. Probably from the days when they mounted detachable ones to dozers and tlbs
