FarmPro 72\" rear discharge Finish Mower

Has anyone here had experience with or currently owns one of the Farm Pro brand from Homier? I notice that they are listed at $799.00 plus freight which is a very low price. I figured if it cuts pretty good, for that kind of money you could almost buy 3 namebrand mowers if this one did not seem to hold up but for a shorter time. Please let me know your thoughts. I have also looked at the King Kutter 72" rear discharge mower at TSC for $1,295.00. Any thoughts on one of these? Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Where did you find this mower listed?
Was it a internet dealer that ships?

I know nothing at all about the mower you mention, but I always associate "Homier" with the lowest quality available. If you look around the internet, that sentiment is well documented. Generally a semi trailer rolls into town and has a huge "Tool Sale" with Homier products for incredibly low prices. The truck then is gone by the time the people get the products home and have them break on first use. Other people may think differently, but personally I wouldn't ever consider anything made by them.

Re: FarmPro 72\" rear discharge Finish Mower

bota2800,

I own/use a farmpro side discharge 60" finish mower. There is a dealer here that sells China tractors and related attachments. He sells the 60" side discharge finish mowers for $600.

I was thinking just as you are. I went to look at the mowers that he advertised. Not the best quality, but how could I go wrong. I talked with him and I left with a mower that was used one time. The owner brought it back saying it was defective, but after looking at it; it was operator error.

This mower has four wheels that adjust in and out. The owner had the wheels all the way in and when he backed up; the wheels hit the back of the mower and bent the frame that hooks to the 3PH. He sold the mower to me for $400 and still gave me a warranty. I took the frame off and took it to the shop were my guys got it straight and stich welded two pieces of angle to the top.

The mower came with flimsy pneumatic wheels that eventually broke. Went to a local farm machinery dealer and bought some solid wheels for $9. One pulley broke; replaced for about $9. The belt broke and replaced for about $15. Found out that a little shimming of the gear box cured the belt situation (have to pull gear box to replace belt).

All in all; I have a 5' finish mower for $460. After fixing what I mentioned above; I have not had any problems. I think it is worth it and I could sell it for $400 now if I wanted to. Just my opinion.
