Does anyone know if there are PTO driven hydraulic pumps that will support hi-flow attachments? I've seen a number of skid-steer front attachments (flail mowers, etc) but they all require more flow than my 8.5 GPM Kubota has to offer.
Any info or experiences you've had in this area would be appreciated. Thanks.

Search places like surplus center.. etc.. I'm guessing if you look hard enough you can find a high flow rate hydro pump. Perhaps even call a hyds shop.. just feel around to see what is out there..

Those skid steers need high flow and high pressure. The skid steer has a high horsepower engine to produce this flow. Like 80-100 HP. A 30 HP tractor will never be able to fully utilize a high or even moderate powered skid steer implement.

Well I guess that's what I really needed to know. I'll check around and see if I can find a table/formula for HP vs. flowxPSI... I'm an EE, fluid dynamics was for CE's. Thanks.

Thanks. Yes that's about what I was thinking of. Looks like the pump is ~75% efficient. A 32 HP PTO cranks out 21 gpm at 2000 psi = 24 HP. (gpm*PSI/1714 = Fluid HP)
I'm thinking it's best to stick with rear PTO attachments. Thanks all.

Don't forget ME's.

I'm a CE and would throw this kind of thing to an ME. Sounds like between the three of us we about have it covered.

Why do you need high flow? Standard flow is common for medium to smaller skid steers. Those attachements only require about 10 - 20 gpm's to operate.
