I have a question regarding RFM for my tractor. I have a JD 3720 and have a 1060S Frontier (Woods) Side Discharge RFM. When I purchased the mower about three months ago, I was not mowing that much and felt the 60" would be easier to transport and more manuverable. I was also concerned about the rear discharge mower clumping grass and leaving large windrows. Therefore, I took order of the existing mower. I now have undertaken a bit more mowing for a local school, which I do for free (well, fuel costs). I do this partially because I like to mow and partly because a work collegue is the volunteer coach of a local youth soccer team that uses the side field of this school. The entire field is about six acres, and the 60" takes a bit too long. I would like the 72" for this reason. I do not use my tractor primarily for mowing, so I would prefer not to invest more money in a 1072 unless absolutely necessary. I do not do enough mowing to really abuse a RFM deck, but I do mow a fair amount with my tractor, so I do not want a deck that is flimsy. My question: I can probably sell my existing mower deck and buy a 1072E economy Frontier mower for my tractor for that price. The "e" mower is not as heavy and has a slightly lower blade tip speed, but it is cheaper. Should I do so? Would I be disappointed with the discharging of clippings and quality of cut? My dealer assures me the cut is good and that these mower decks are durable, but I remain concerned. I am pleased with every aspect of my existing mower, except that it has 12" too narrow a cut. Does anyone have direct experience with the cut quality and durability of the Frontier Economy line? I know all the spec's and even answered another poster's question once about the specifications, but I have no actual hands on use, nor have I seen results from an Economy Frontier mower. I would like to stick with Frontier because I use the I Match hitch and like that my dealer sells and covers them. Please guide me. Thanks.
