Can anyone point me to a primer on broadcast sprayers? I am looking for something in the 25 gallon range for installation on a 3 pt carry all. I need to learn about pressures, regulators, by-passes, adjustments, booms, boomless broadcasters, ground speed, dc current requirements, etc. I would like to be able to apply weed controls to my lawn (2 acres) and horse pasture (5 acres), vegetation killer (Round Up) to pasture fence lines, and fertilizer to lawn and pasture. I may also want to spray insecticide on trees and shrubs.

A google search can help you find a bunch of sources. Here's a link to an overview. Most references are to large ag sprayers, but the prinicples are the same. See attached diagram for a typical roller pump set up. If you are doing an electrical system, the electrical pump simply goes in place of the roller pump. You can "T" in a spray gun with its own valve pretty easily, too.

bigpete - Thanks for the link! I read through it once, but I am going to have to read it again. I think it was too late at night for my brain and eyes to work together. I also intend to try searching with Google. Thanks! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Bigpete thanks for the primer lesson. I too am thinking about building a 3-point boom sprayer so your link was most helpful in my quest for more information. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You are welcome, of course. Someone pointed me there and I'm just paying it forward. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
