I can\'t attach sprayer, paint on the bar.

I can't get the 3 pt hitch hooked up. I think its because of paint on the sprayer connection points ( I don't know that they are called). I'm going to sand them down and and grease them up and see how that works. Any other suggestions>

The attachment pins won't go thru the lower lift arm ball sockets ?

Lift pins usually aren't painted, but I guess it can happen. Mine would tolerate a coat or 2 of paint and still slip on, but maybe all your stuff is new. Try some lacquer thinner and a Scotchbrite pad. Most paint will krinkle up and come right off.

The bulk of what sprayers I have seen have welded "round stock" for lower hitch pins. Some were a little "mushroomed" on the ends, and needed cleaning up with a file.

My new sprayer had the same problem. Painted pins that go through the balls on the 3pt, too big. Took a metal file and filed off the paint, a little grease and no problem, went through easy.

I stripped the paint, filed the ends and greased the hitch balls and pins. I still can't get it on. I guess ti's going to take a lot more filing. I'm kind of worried about messing them up. Would the quick attach pins help? I'm thinkint about getting some anyway.

Just curious but do your lower lift arms move freely from side to side? Have you loosened the turnbuckles or pulled the sway pins before trying to attach the sprayer? I have never seen pins that wouldn't mate to the sockets if they are the same category.

What kind of tractor do you have? Is it a CAT.0 three point hitch, or CAT.I????

Is the pin even CLOSE to fitting?

It's close. I hooked it up with the hitch half on and checked it out. I have a MF 1533. SWEET!!!! My wife doesn't understand why I get so excited about a tractor!

My FIMCO sprayer came the same way. One side went on, one side had to be beet on /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif.
Took the angle grinder with a purl max disc and knocked down the paint, cleaned the ends up /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. No problems. Good luck!
