Have the HD566. Love it. Bought at a going-out-of-business auction about a year ago for way less than the one TSC sells, and this one is much heavier. Two of us did eventually manage to wrestle it into my truck, and I got it out alone when I got home. Gravitational assist. Looked it up on the web, 405 lbs. Hey, I'm tougher than I thought. Or maybe just dumber. ;)

I saw the same brand at the JD dealer. Only difference looks to be mine is primer red and theirs are JD green. Don't really know what else to tell you other than it does everything I ask and shows no visible damage. I cut swales, leveled out the mess left over after my septic system went in, did site prep for my shed...best of all is the way the box on the back makes the loader work better on the front.

By the way, how much does JD want for one?

I ended up getting the United box. I not sure of the model number right now. 6xxHD, something like that. It is a 6 foot box. I used it this a.m., seems like it will fill the bill for me.
I have not paid for it yet, I picked it up late on Friday and the dealer and I agreed to settle up Monday. He had quoted me $315, several weeks ago. If I am not mistaken this was for the 6 foot box.
Sound about right ?

$315 sounds really good! I'd figured it would be higher, like 400-450. Then again, my JD dealer has surprised me both ways - quoting both higher and lower than I'd expected at different times. Then, too, I've mostly just bought parts from him...

Sounds like a good deal to me. I paid $310 + $90 S+H for a 500 pound 5 1/2 no brand box scraper.

What is united's web site? I bought the 5 1/2 footer from my 'bota dealer for $450 (I know i gave him an extra $50, but I was making up for buying the tractor out of town). He couldn't tell me the weight of the blade. I still don't nkow how much it weighs, but 450 seems likely (1$ per puond).

I haven't found one for United yet. ?
I don't even have a sales brochure to get info either. I will stop by my JD dealer to see if he has one or the other.
Try this web page,

It list several brands and their specs.

I purchased one yesterday for $325. Haven't used it yet, but compared it to Woods and Landpride (much, much more expensive) and feel I got the most BANG for my buck. It looks to be heavier duty than the ones you can get at Tractor Supply and Quality Farm. If I have any problems I'll post them.

I put mine through the paces last weekend - very stout box.
Graded both gravel and dirt roads. Your right- for the money it was a deal. Do you put any ballast /weight on your box ??

Haven't used it yet. Do you feel like your going to need extra weight?
