Bush Hog 3715 Flex Wing (Pinging Gaterboy...?)

I've not seen it but I have a local farmer who has one and says he'd like to get $10,600 out of it, saying it's "like new". He also went on to say it's only cut a 75 acre field a couple of times.

Again, I've not seen it. I've called three dealers relatively nearby and no one even carries it. Two of them told me they've never sold one, that they usually sell the model under the 3715. One of them told me it lists for about $16,000 but he would sell it for 13K or so, depending on options.

I'm going to try to get some pics of it this coming weekend. Any thoughts on what I should look for or ask for that might help give an idea of it's value?

I've got one of those mowers. Built like an Abrahms tank. That or the simular Rhino are about as good as it gets in that size mower. Price-wise, that's not bad, but not a real bargain either. Used is used..... The price goes down when it cuts the first blade of grass... I bought mine about 16 months back for less than $15,000 new.

I don't have a whole much more to add -- mowers do not hold their value like a tractor does, so being used I would try and get the price down as low as you can.

If it is "like-new" and has only cut 75 acres a couple times, I'm sure it's worth the amount he is asking, but try and use the "USED" term to your advantage.

A mower like that will last for thousands of hours -- so unless you are in the mowing business, it will last you forever.

Thanks for the comments. I'm planning on going to look at it this Saturday.

Sadly, I found out the MF 2745 that he's trying to also sell, is the version with the powershift transmission that I've read they had a LOT of issues with, and not the manual gear version.
