In 1999, the Italians started coping the floating hitch features of the finish mowers made in the USA. At that time the US$ was very strong and importers had a purchasing advantage selling European goods in the USA. The Italians started offering powder paint when the US MFG's were still working with a wet paint system. We saw the prices start to go down. While this was happening the Koreans and Chinese were watching what was going on in the USA. The finish mower market is largely a USA market driven by compact tractor owners.
Now it is common to see the 3rd generation Korean and Chinese copies of the USA models being sold in the USA. They have the features of the higher priced mowers and the quality is almost there as well. It is just a matter of time before the finish mower market will be dominated by the Korean & Chinese MFG's.
The 6' mower pictured below sells retail now for $699. That is $500-$700 less than the European models. You can see them being sold from many different sources now. The market will make the decision on the value!

CCM is not involved in selling finish mowers, we are not all things to all customers. We are a full line hay tools dealer/importer & manufacturer. We do also sell high end commercial grade tillers at great values.

My, but freight is high these days. $234.81 delivered to R & L's Knoxville terminal from Memphis. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I think I would drive.

Here in Central Ky, The market has alrady spoken. Currently, The product you show in the picture is on the consignment auction circuts. A mower like you show will being sold or "Bid In" at $200-$300 new. As these are public auctions are attended by thousands of farmers, Hobby Farmers and dealers, you can assume no one is taking the bait.--Ken Sweet

We use the same carrier and the freight will be 1/2 that amount and same distance from here in central Ky. I smell something funny on the shipping costs here /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif-Ken Sweet

We received a shipment via R&L that came from Sarasota, FL less than a year ago. I think it was 300-350 lbs, but as big as a 6' RFM, delivered to the door (well, the road -- he couldn't make the turn into the driveway). /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I don't remember exactly what the freight charge was, but I think it was just over $100.

I agree, this one doesn't seem right.

BTW, I was impressed with the care R&L takes with shipments. They seem to be a first rate operation.
