Gannon does make various qualitiesm the 4X4 line is tough. They are about the only ones you see on industrial tractors. The John Deere 210's and Case Industrial loaders use 96" Gannon 4X4's, if these tractors that all have 4WD can't destroy them, chances are your not going to. Its easy to tell the heavy duty Gannon's today, they come in black

I have had good luck with Gannon box blades by Woods. The model I have is a 6' 4272HD High Back (picture attaced) for a L4310. Very heavy construction. Top-N-Tilt controls are a must if you will be doing a lot of box blade work. For occasional work, the manual 3PH is fine. Be sure to get one that is wider than the tires.

I have the Woods and it has gone over rocks, stumps, made about everything and generally been sorely abused and it is none the worse for wear. No bent parts or anything. I'd recommend it. I don't think there's anyway you could tear it up with a compact tractor.

I have a Gannon Landscraper box blade 66" wide and ~900 pounds. It is made with 1/2 inch steel for the end plates (and about everything else!) I don't even know how it could be hurt, much less "bent every which way to Sunday", but I do know that I won't be lending it out to your neighbor!!!

Back to the main question:

Buy as much weight as you can afford and your tractor can pull. Box blades, and most ground engaging equipment, work better and better as they weight more and more. The professional duty models that Gannon and Gearmore and others make have a loyal following on this board, so I assume they are all good. But expensive.

Mulkey, thats the one. You have a great boxscraper there. Gannon/Woods also manufactuers the ones made for Kubota when you buy it as a Kubota part. Rat

Rat, I'm interested in your hydraulic Gearmore. They dont seem to be well known here in the East. Could you tell us which size you have, how much you paid, and where you got it--from a dealer or direct from Gearmore? I'd like to compare the prices against the ones I am getting here for hydraulic Gannons and Landprides.
