Homier is coming into town and I see they have a chipper in thier flyer.

Anybody know what this is or if it is any good for the money. I really do not "need" a chipper but it would come in handy once in a while so I would not be using it every day or for any kind of production. Just the occasional lot clearing.

Any thoughts?

Actually I was just looking at the unit. Is it too big for a BX23?

I'm sure a lot of people will tell you that it is too big, but if I had one, I'd sure use it on my BX 2200, I've used several attachments that are "TOO BIG"for the tractor and it has done ok, just do it slower. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's a Chinese 6" capacity chipper.I and lots of others have them. They work great.run smooth, very little viberation. They weigh about 880 lbs. I use it on my Chinese Jinma 28 HP.tractor. cost with shipping about 1500.00 worth every penny. I'm in upstate new york if anyone wants to come see mine. I have chipped pines, birch, oak, up to 6" dia.I would guess min.HP might be 22-24 needed. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

nasdaqsam, Like mark1 said...a lot have been sold and people like them. Lot of people dont use them every day and dont want to spend but so much. Parts are availiable for those units. You may need to fine tune it[ make sure everything it tight etc..] There has been a price increase on the JM6 Jinma Chipper. My order due 10 -2005 will reflect the increase. I would at least go look at it...a lot of chipper for the buck.

Not to mention that $1299 is a great price! I paid $1500 for the jinma branded one. I'm sure they are the same. They aren't called Jinmas or Farm Pro etc in China. The importers attach these brand names to them.

Oh and did I mention that they work great!!

I just sold my 33hp tractor and was afraid the 24hp would have problems with my chipper like this. The 24hp didn't even know it was back there. Like the others said, a little adjustment and check the lube and go to chipping. It sure beats standing and watching a fire for hours.

Thanks for all the reply's. I guess it is worth a look. The price seemed to good to be true.

Like I said this is going to only see occasional light duty use so it may be just the ticket.

Thanks

So much for the chipper. As usual they did not bring many of the larger items they advertised. Maybe next time.
