Backhoe 4-WHEELER BACKHOE

Yesterday on my way back from New Orleans I spotted a backhoe mounted on a 4 wheeler. It also had a back fill blade mounted underneath. I dont remember exactly but I think I saw out-riggers too. It looked really neat, I have no ideal how it works but looks like it would be sorta fun. Anybody else seen or have info on these things. This was at genes polaris on I-10.

What would keep the backhoe from lifting the 4 wheeler off the ground? They ain't that heavy.

Well all backhoes can lift themselves, or I should say I would not buy one if it could not. Thats not the real problem though, If it had any "real" power it would be the dragging effect overcoming the weight of the machine. But iam not sure who there marketing this too, but I would bet it would beat a shovel hands down..

True it would beat a shovel but I ain't heard of shovels harming the operator. An ATV is not a wide base and they tip easier than any tractor.

I wonder if the out-riggers would help elminate the tipping? They are there to stablize the tractor ugh 4-wheeler. I know what your saying but I havent been on this thing but it is still interesting to me.. If I had a pocket full of money to waste, I mean invest I would probally have one just cause it looks cool..

I think it's crazy to ruin a perfectly good ATV with something it wasn't built to do (ditto using those bush hogs). Just my opinion but I know everything.

Haven't seen on that hooks directly to a 4wheeler.But I think it's www.cadplans.com that has plans and kits for several different pull-behind backhoes.that can be built for around 2k or so.

Did it look like this? They have it in the new Farm Show paper I got in the mail today. Article says it is powered by a 4hp Honda engine. Digging depth of 5 ft. 10" wide bucket. 46" wide blade with down pressure that acts as a stabilizer. Full specs on web site. They have models that fit on pickup too. Selling price....... $6200 Canadian approx $4100 US. Ouch!
