We have sold alot of these woodchippers with very minor problems,Feeder belts and a Knuckle on the feeder has been the worst of the problems.Hope this helps in your decision making,it's a great woodchipper for the price.

Tommy,

I don't know where you heard that from,we have sold them online and thru our location for years ,the belt driven feed motor is not problem it will pull in as much wood as you can lift thats for sure, the chinese quality of belts are not the best but I have cross over #'s to gates. You can PM me for more information or do a search for woodchippers on here and ask some people that have them,

I don't have one of these chippers, but I have a belt driven chipper. It has it's advantages. It's sort of an automatic clutch with an emergrency indicator (smells like burning belt) if you had a major league jam up. Since the power is really coming from the fly wheel, it's not a power drawback as you might think.

I bought mine under the Jinma label. It is one of the better built Chinese products. It took a few hours of adjustments and some grinding on that square drive shaft to get it humming. Since the tune up, it has performed perfectly. I have actually made a few bucks with it. There is a thread in the Chinese tractor section of this board. It was a pretty much positive thread.

I just had one of these units delivered. Spent a couple hours adjusting, tweaking, greasing and changing lubrication.

Take the time and take apart the knuckle joint on the feed roller. I re-machined the joints with 60 grit paper and polished the sliding componenets. Added moly grease too.

I also changed out some tiny zerk fittings to normal sized ones. Also changed out some straight zerks for 90's and 45's to make greasing easier. Buy metric zerks-(auto zone-cheap)dont force SAE zerks into the holes.

For some more info goto the CTOA website. One of their members did a nice how-to and putting it together and servicing it.

Fired it up...very happy. Ran around the yard like a kid looking for stuff to chip!

As far as China best on E-bay I thought their prices and delivery were a little out of line. The English on their website was poor...sounds petty but decided it was a no go. You have to pay 800 bucks just to get it to a major port! I paid 1600 and it was delivered to my door in NH from CA.

I think you might get an equivalent price going local. Check out coldwater tractor out in the North west also. I talked to them, very decent folks. Didn't use them at the time due to high shipping from Oregon. I think they found a better trucking co. to do business with.
