I purchased a grapple from Andy Tatro for use with my Ventrac Loader Pallet Fork attachment. He also reinforced the top of the standard backstop on the forks which support the 80 pound grapple. The grapple cylinder is connected directly to the standard Ventrac auxiliary front hydraulic couplers. I will be using this setup only to pickup and move brush and limbs to burn piles.

I specifically did not want the grapple tines to be able to contact the forks to prevent self-inflicted damage by pinching. In addition I have installed a check valve across the grapple cylinder to limit the grasping force it can produce. This grapple primarily serves as a "lid" to prevent the brush and limbs from falling off the forks during transport.

The grapple weight and price were right and it works great. Photos are shown in this and succeeding posts.

Nice looking setup. I've never seen your tractor before. Looks very stable/wide footprint with all those tires!

Jack, that looks like a very nice application of Andy's grapple. I've been using mine lately to help grip big rocks with my rock bucket. The grapple works like a "top hand" in holding things in place and doesn't exert a lot of down pressure with only 2500 psi input pressure. I'm not sure what the input pressure is on your Ventrac, but most likely up to 2500 psi, you would not need the relief valve. Time will tell. . .

I do think your pressure gage is a little exposed. You just never know what a load of brush will do. I've routed my hoses as close to the cylinder as possible just for that reason. Other than that, I can't make any suggestions. I bet your productivity really soars with the addition of the grapple.

Nice job! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
