The company was a family owned company untill a few years ago, I think the company may have been 75+ years old.

A few years back, I decided to start shopping for a new baler. My antique 14T Deere just wasn't cutting it any longer. I looked at the Freeman balers at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville. I ALMOST signed on the dotted line. The ONLY thing that stopped me was that there just weren't any dealers in my immediate area.

They sell BIG "out west", in cattle country.

YES! They are good, no, they're GREAT balers.

I ended up buying a new Deere 338 baler. Never was sorry. I know more about Deere balers, so I can work on mine. I have a dealer near home that can service or repair what I can't. That was the key in my choice.

But I can't think of a thing wrong with Freeman balers other than dealer support. SHould you have that, no reason to avoid them at all.
