I have a tractor with a FEL, but I now also have a nicer/bigger tractor that I now use for pretty much 100% of my tractor requirements (99.95% mowing).
As my loader requirements are only very very occasional I was thinking of selling the tractor/loader combo.

I now have the chance to buy a rear end loader pretty cheap which would mean I could sill do the few jobs a loader would be handy for.
Anybody ever used one of these, if so do they do the job OK? Any drawbacks?

This one does not have a power tip, but I could probably add that afterwards.

should work fine - only not as conveniant as a FEL. But you said you only use it now & then so it comes down to $$$$.

That is your call!!

As I only use my tractors for mowing and sweeping, I really do only have a job that a loader would make easier (= more fun /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif) about every couple of months. I just would not like to be without a loaders' capabilities now that I know what they can do.
I just can't really justify keeping a spare tractor worth the equivalent of about $4000 for a handful of jobs a year.

For the last ten years I had a Farmi rear-mounted loader on a 40 HP Long and really liked it. Granted I like the FEL on the new tractor even more but I kept the biggest bucket from the old loader and have it on the list to rebuild a version of the rear mount. It is much easier to load and move a lot of dirt with the bucket mounted on the the 3ph. I also rarely used my grader blade because I could get a very nice graded surface by filling the bucket with gravel and dragging it around. The main reason I bought it was because of the limited remote hydraulics available to me and the factory loader was quite a beast. The rear mount only required one single acting cylinder. The manual dump wasn't its high point but was manageable.

More thoughts available here Farmi loader

good luck
