As a newbie to tractors I am having a terrible time trying to attach this finishing mower to my pto, it just doesn't seem to want to slide on for some reason. I also have a rough cut mower but that has a pin on the shaft and all i have to do is push it iin. any help on this problem would be appreciated. Earl

The KK finish mower has a cap or bell that needs turned/twisted to get it on and off the PTO.
Perhaps the locking pin or balls are stuck from sitting outside, keeping it from sliding on.. (a shot of penatrating oil could help)
Also check for paint or a bur of some sort on the mower shaft preventing it from sliding on your PTO shaft.

I think you'll find that there is an outer collar on the very end of the coupling that has to be turned about 1/4 of a turn to allow the coupling to slip on the PTO all the way. Turn the collar and hold it in that position as you work it onto the PTO. Once it is fully on, release the collar and work the shaft around a little and it should lock in place.
Hope this helps.

Hey Earl,
Can you flip the shaft around and see if the other end slips on? My KK has the button style lock, is yours the same?
Hang in there.

Hi Curt, I don't know if the other end has a button or not but I am sure going to check it out. Thanks, Earl

Do I feel like a dummy. Tried again to get the KK attached and no luck. Called up my JD dealer and he came right out and attached that mower in 10 seconds and all he did was turn the PTO shaft on the tractor which I thought wouldn't move once the tractor was stopped. My Hog was have been perfectly lined up every time I put it on. Earl /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Well, don't feel bad...we all do dumb things sometime or another...
As long as one isn't injured...no problem!
