What can anyone tell me about different brands and types of rear mounted fork lifts. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Inexpensive would be good, but sturdy as well. I will, initially, be using it to haul pallet sized loads of firewood.

Welcome to the forum.

I re-worked my FEL pallet forks last year to attach to the iMatch on the 3pt. I use it back there, when I have the snowplow on the front, to bring firewood in on pallets after air drying for two years. It works great, even when I have the tire chains on which make it a bit bouncy.

A pic around here somewhere, and will look for it.

These were pretty cheap. Just some 1.5" x 1.5" x 1/8" tube and 3/4" bolts for lift pins. The brand is Quick N Dirty /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I'm too lazy to stack wood on pallets ... I just throw it into fruit bins. I can lift a full box of fir/pine/cedar with my loader forks but had to cobble 3ph forks for the oak cuz the loader wouldn't lift it.
Cheers!

I am 'impressed' and actually amazed that the welds at the corners of those 'forks' hold up that load. Truly impressed. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif But happy that they do. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Wow what timing! With the price of oil what it is I am thinking about an outdoor wood-fired boiler to heat my water and radiant floor. Looking ahead, I thought about a set of pallet forks for the front AND back! What I want to know is who makes them/where can I buy them?

I don't have a welder so am seeking a pre-made version if possible. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Oh boy, you and me both! It made a maiden voyage of 1/8 mile over native ground ... but time will tell. As you might imagine, I'm afraid to see just how much they'll lift ... I only NEED them to lift that box of wood this winter /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Cheers!

beenthere,

Still like your set up...very nice. I just barely deleted my link to one of the longer threads on 3ph forks FEL forks, etc... and now can't find it....timing is everything /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
