Sickle Bar Rowse Rakes Sickle Mowers

Does anyone on the TBN know anything about Rowse Rakes sickle mowers made in Burwell, Nebraska? Their website states that they make a pull type sickle mower. I was wondering if this mower operates off of the tractor PTO, or does the mower operator off of the wheels of the mower. Also, if this mower operates off of the tractor PTO, could the lower tractor hitch be moved to the right so that the mower blade would be passed the rear tractor wheel on a wider tractor wheel, without tearing the mower PTO shaft up while operating at a angle from the tractor PTO shaft?

Surely there are some farmers, or ranchers in the Western part of the United States that know about Rowse Rakes sickle mowers that are made in Burwell, Nebraska.

That equipment looks pretty well made, especially those rakes.
Those trailing mowers - at least the single one is PTO driven. The second trailing mower for the double mower is hydraulic driven. Is that why you're wondering about the hydraulic drive?

I've been doing a little bit of checking on these mowers also. It seems they offer a "New Holland like" drive for one version of their mower. It is the exact same thing as the drive on the New Holland 451/456 mower. Right down to the same part #'s cast on them. (I also see a New Idea/IHC type cutter drive listed)

I'm at a loss as to what's what.... Did Rowse make mowers for New Holland? Did New Holland sell parts or designs to Rowse?

In any event, the New Holland 451/456 mower is/was about as good as sickle bar mowers ever got. Very smooth operation. No mechanical glitches. Long life.

If they sell at a respectable price, I sure can't see anything wrong with 'em.

I wonder if they bought the casting dies?

They probably made new cast toolings (dies, etc.) Anyway, toolings of cast components of a sickle bar or rake are simple, don't cost so much. NH Mower design rights must have expired and copying it is normal if there is still market.
