Trying to make a decision on which blade and what size for my B7500.What rear blades is everyone using and Will a 6' Blade turn a 360 on my tractor, is it to much blade or would I be better off with a 5' also got a price today on a woods RB60 for $325.00 going to check on landspride also. Any help greatly apprietiated.

I ordered a few "toys" a couple of weeks ago and had them delivered this past weekend. One of them was a Woods RB60 blade. I have a JD4100 HST and our machines are essentially the same. I looked over both Landpride and Woods. They are both good products. The reason I went with the Woods was the price I got from the dealer. I got the blade for $300.

This blade has five offsets and 3 tilts. I was able to rotate the blade 360% with no problem. I think that I could have gone with the RB72 just to have the extra blade width to move materials.

I suggest that you shop around. Go to a couple of dealers. Kick the blades, listen to their recommendations, and get their prices. If you by multiple implements, you might get a bit of price break. Also, once you know what you want, call around to dealers selling the same brands and compare prices. One may have a better dealer discount than the other.

Thank You for the response, I have called quite a few places and very few carry the landpride, The best place I called was Winchester Equipment Co. and that was also the best price/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif It is also a Woods RB60. So it looks like Ill be going over there Sat. and making a purchase. We live up on a mountain with alot of rocky soil and he said if I got into a tight spot that I will be glad I got the RB60. Although he would be more than happy to sell me the RB72./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I was looking into the same thing for <font color=orange>Lucy</font color=orange> (also a B7500). Feeling was (both dealer & I) that a 6' would be just about right. Reason being is that a blade is usually angled, and at a 45 degree angle, the blade is about 4.5'.

Lucy handles a 4' boxblade real well, so I felt that a 6' blade would be about right as well. If you're running less angle, a 5' might work OK too, but feeling was to get the edges of the blade outside of the tires. Lucy's tires (R4's) are at about 53".

Glueguy, Do you have front and rear tires fluid filled? I have the R4's also but only the rear are filled. I have about 300' of ditch to keep clean and we just didnt know if the tractor could handle that while angle and tilted. Does your 6' rotate 360?

Glueguy makes a good point. A 6' blade at 30 degrees, covers 62"; at 45 degrees, covers 51"
Whereas a 5' blade at 30 degrees covers 52", and at 45 degrees covers 42". There are other things to consider as well, but if that blade doesn't reach out far enough beyond the wheels, then frustration can set in. Making sure the length is short enough to do a 360degree turn is also important. The 3pt on some of these compacts are pretty close to the back wheels.

Well Im starting to 2nd guess myself with the replys. So Im also going to check price on a 72" but what im worried about is if the tractor will handle it under serious load and does it rotate 360 easily. Thanks for everyones help/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Jim -- I had a five footer on my old B1750 (weight approx the same as yours) and found myself wishing I'd gone with the six footer. With the blade angled while pulling a lot of snow, the back end of the tractor tended to slip to the side. Nearly pulled me into the ditch a couple of times. With a wider blade I could have stood away from the ditch more.

Fill your tires and take little bites. But based on my past experience I would go with a wider blade.

Well just got off the phone with the dealer and they have it in stock its the rb72 but they want $380.00 for it. Is that about the going rate.

I paid $395 for a 7' (84") landpride. I think it's an RB1584.
