I am thinking seriously about getting a 60 " king Kutter finish mower for my Kubota B7600. I read in the owners manuel that they are for lawn grass only. Some of my area to mow is a little rougher than what I would call a lawn. How much roughness can a finish mower take. Also can you back up some with one? I don't mean mow backwoods, but sometimes you have to back up to catch an area in the corner, or something you missed. Ted Cary

i bought a new 60" kk rfm and used 1 year. mowed good but not very heavy duty. in first year bent a blade twice (only come as a set of 3) and had to replace 1 spindle that was stripped out when blade removed for the 1st time. i think you can get a lot better for not much more.

It is a finish mower.. that menas.. if you are mowing stuff that is not grass.. or if the grass is tall.. it's a workout for the mower. Think of it like a riding lawnmower... past about 6" I'd say you are abusing the machine. Options are to buy a heavy duty model and ahve at it.. or use a rotary cutter with sharpened baldes for the bulk of the cut, and a push mower or the like for a couple strips around the house.. etc.

I have had a KK 6' finish mower for 7 yrs now.
It's built very heavy, no problem mowing backing up, do it all
the time. I have abused mine a little, when I didn't feel like changing to the rotary mower, usually means having to sharpen the blades after hitting sticks,etc..
I have had to replace 1 belt in 7 yrs, and 2 of the spindles. KK has been very quick at sending replacement parts.
The new KK model is rear discharge. I am thinking about buying a new one just for that. My biggest hangup is with the side discharge, in high and wet grass it clogs easily. For the money, I think it is a good mower. BTW, if the grass is too tall, just lift the front up a little and mow a little high.
