Pat\'s Easy Change System

I am spending way too much time hooking onto the brush hog. Whether it is with my little hinamoto or my big /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gifkioti. I find I am having to use the big hammer alot. Would this make my life easier? My brushhog is old but is still working great, just the hook up situation. Thanks.

Re: Pat\'s Easy Change System

Pat's Easy Change isn't a miracle, but it sure makes hooking up an implement easier.
I definitely recommend it..it'll knock off several minutes and a lot of strain, pain and foul language!

Re: Pat\'s Easy Change System

Definitely easier. I use my brothers 5' mower and he keeps it backed in the corner in his building, I can back in and raise my lift and latch onto the bottom pins without getting off the tractor, and drag the mower outside and finish hooking up after I get it outside. I would sure hate to do without the easy change.

And I'll echo Roy and Milkman. I just got mine and I love it. It makes hooking up a LOT easier. If you hook up alone it's a lifesaver. It really cut out the colorful language when hooking up my rough cut mower.

Re: Pat\'s Easy Change System

Pat's was the first attachment I bought for my tractor after it was delivered. Makes it a lot easier to hook up. Highly recommended. Not as fast as a quick hitch, but usable with all implements. A quick hitch sometimes requires that implements be modified. At least that's what I've read here.

I highly recommend the Easy Change System. Had mine for about a year and it hasn't disappointed. I think nothing of changing attachments with this system. Before I would dredd changing. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Get it...........you won't regret it!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Pat\'s Easy Change System

A couple of Sat's ago I was at an estate auction and ran into an acquaintance that works at Pats and he asked me to stop by and see the new machine they had. Yesterday I had some running to do so I stopped by Pat's Easy Change factory. They have a new CNC machine that is just fascinating to watch, just pick a job on the computer and push a button and that thing has a mind of its own. Nice clean place neatly organized, but laid back with a pot of coffee going , if you ever get a chance, stop by and get a cup and take a tour, I could have stayed all day. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: Pat\'s Easy Change System

One thing to watch out for with Pat's system is the fact that the load is placed about 3 inches further back from the tractor. If you have a heavy three-point implement that is near the handling limits of the tractor (the front end gets light when the implement is raised), this extra 3 inches will make the problem worse. The heavy weight is now at the end of a 3 inch longer lever arm and may raise the front of the tractor off the ground.

I'm putting Pat's system on my L4300. I have a Woods BB720 bush hog that is about 300 lbs. heavier than the max recommended bush hog weight for the L4300. Without the FEL in place, the L4300 is marginal with this mower, at least in 3-pt. mode. In 2-pt, it's no sweat as the tailwheel stays on the ground; but 2-pt. can lead to scalping on uneven ground.

I'm expecting issues using Pat's system when I use the BB720 in 3-pt. mode on the L4300. But, even with that, I think it's worth it. Hookup/unhook from the BB720 typically takes a half hour and requires partial disassembly of the 3pt. hitch. I'll use it 2-pt. Where the ground is uneven enough to require 3-pt., I have a bigger tractor....which hooks up easy.

I appreciate all the responses. Christmas is coming and guess what I have asked the hubby for? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Pat\'s Easy Change System

Mom had asked me what I wanted for Christmas a few days ago, guess what I told her that I wanted? She came down last night and we logged on to TBN and ordered it.
