PTO Trencher

   / PTO Trencher #11
I bought one that was listed on ebay several years ago. The company that built it was bought by Woods. Apparently the trencher was owned by a rental company and then sold to an individual. It cost me $1,500. A new Bradco was running at least $5,000. The type tractor transmission you need depends on the conditions. In soil with little or no rock a gear tractor would work. If you have any rock you'll need a hydro as others have mentioned or a tractor with a super crawler/creeper gear.

For all the use/abuse the trencher I bought had beforehand, it still works fine. Max depth is about 60".

Kubota used to make one. Bradco still does. model 612 if I remember correctly... 36inch I think about $4500.oo. or around about it...

I bought used one a few months ago off Craigslist. $1600 for the 3' one with a new chain installed & new drive gear not yet installed (current one looks fine). I see a 4' model that's been on CL for $3,500, now down to $3,200 for a few months. Tempting as our frost line is 3', but the project I got it for is only electrical, not water. I figure I'll sell it after I use it for a few projects. Hoping it works out behind my HST as I expect later this spring.
