Just put my Curtis soft side cab on my 4210 /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif , and thought I'd get some aux lights from TSC for the top, I didnt order them when I ordered the cab.

My question is about the amp load of the addl lights, and how would be the best way to wire them up. I'm thinking about using a relay with the trigger driven by the current front lights, and Pos straight from the battery.

50 watt lights draw about 4 amps each. Using a relay would be the BEST way to add more lights to your cab, then no additional draw is placed on the factory wiring harness.

My only change to your plan would be to trigger the relay from another source that is ON with the key, and wire in an additional switch to control the new lights. That way you can have the cab lights on without the headlights to help reduce strain on the battery/alternator.

Sounds like a nice setup! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well, I took most of your advice, I installed a switch to turn the aux lights off and on, seperate from the headlights. I can believe the amount of light they throw out compared to the headlights. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif Bigtime improvement, and realtively inexpensive. Next time it's light out and I have the camra handy, I'll post some pics of the cab set up. I also wired in a small ceramic heater, for those really cold days coming up. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

He could put a seperate switch for each light to allow the choice of either one or both lights at once.
I would mount the lights so they can be rotated 360 degrees and swivel up and down.
