The shipping calculator on their website quoted $570 for shipping to NJ. I called and spoke to a person and she gave me the $263 shipping when I ordered the unit. Now I have $307 burning a hole in my pocket.
To answer my own question: the problem is their website estimator. When I called for a shipping quote I got $400 residential and $279 shipping terminal quotes. That's more like it.
You all can probably arrange your own shipping. I have shipments coming to my business from Indiana and I just had one of my carriers stop in there to pickup my chipper. I had to pay the carrier a $50 extra stop fee. My point is I arranged for my own shipping.
We keep all the parts for the Jinma chippers in stock, make sure you tighten all the nuts, bolts, grease everything before you use it.most of the problems are with the feeder belt, loose set screws on the shafts.knuckles on the feeder shaft.

Shipping costs for the Farm Pro from Indiana are effected by the delivery. You can get residential w/ lift truck, which means they will bring it to your driveway and unload it for you. I got commercial delivery, which is in a business district w/o unloading. I will have a fork lift at the business to unload it myself. Both of those factors will reduce the cost of the shipping.
Tommy: Thanks for the advice. I will make sure to check those things as well.
