BOX BLADE COMPLAINT

Travis: I had a box blade like yours until my father-inlaw used it. This past summer he wanted to level out a place to put his storage trailer on my property while he was moving. I was away at the beach so he got my NH 8970 and hooked it up to the box blade. Somewhere in the course of his city upbringing and exsistance he was never exposed to equipment limitations. Needless to say the box scrape hooked a root, some rocks and probably a stump or two and when I got home from the beach, the rippers/scrafiers and box/blade were destroyed.

When I asked him about his learning experience, his only comment was "the tractor never felt like anything was behind it". Your welcome to the remains if your ever in the area. It was a great box blade for my Kubota 5030, worked perfect.

The dealer just installed my power beyond kit. I need to get the valve and cylinders. It sure is a pain getting adjusting that top link manually when you want to change from ripping to spreading to smoothing.

I have my top-link adjusted all the way in. The BOTTOM EDGE OF THE FRONT OF THE BOX digs into the ground before the teeth actually dig in. I mean don't get me wrong. The teeth do dig in alittle, but NOTHING like they should. I haven't called my dealer because I've had the box for about 7 or 8 months now.

When I rip the ground with the teeth, the loose stuff gets built up in my box. It don't allow it to go under the cutting edges.

My best bet is to sell it.

$500.00 and its gone.

The rippers on our Bush Hog SBX72 and SBX84 both do that mounted in their HIGHEST unused position, as when you are trying NOT to utilize them whatsoever! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

In their lowest position, they are 3" into the earth. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

They sold you the wrong scarifiers! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

You obviously have the wrong set of rippers.

Tell your dealer you have never tried to use your rippers until now. He will most likely give you the right set of rippers. If he balks, put a call in to BH.

You can sell your BH box blade, but you need to get the right rippers to sell it anyway. You won't find a better one to replace it with, either. It's about as good as they get.
