Hardy Diesel PTO Generators
Anyone have any experience with the Hardy Diesel PTO generators. Web page: http://www.hardydiesel.com/gen/HDPTOgenerators.htm
Despite what the web page says the generators are basic units with no 3Pt mount, PTO shaft, circuit breaker or outlets. But the price is not too bad. The 15KW unit (don't know if that's surge or continuous) is $1099 plus $200 shipping from CA to NJ.
An additional $200 gets you the 3Pt mount plus PTO shaft.
The posts in "Other Brands" about Hardy Tractors are not always positive.

Re: Hardy Diesel PTO Generators
RichNJ, my father in law ran the standalone diesel generators made by hardy for years. It was his only source of power, and they ran anywhere from 8 to 15 hours a day. Did he have problems? Yeah, if you consider after 6 or 7 years use the windings in the power head had to be redone. He bought a new one at the 10 year mark due to a cracked block...that one was still running when he sold the property and moved back to the city. At 80, he figured he was getting a little long in the tooth for mountain living.
