Maybe a equipment guy like Ken Sweet can give me an opinion - any help will be appreciated- I'd like the combo tool that is a ripper but is set up to accept a middle buster blade. I just don't want to have to spend an extra hundred bucks to by the middle buster if I can get a combination implement. Looking at King kutter. Seems pretty stout.

My tractor is MFWD, 50 hp, about 5000 pounds, R1 tires, and my land is stumpy so the plow will be getting stretched to it's limits and needs to be a monster.

any tips guys? thanks.

The KK middle buster/subsoiler combo is set up with Category 1 pins, but they are closer together than normal so sub-CUT 3pts can handle these implements. I have one for my 21- HP B7510 HST ($135 from TSC).

Don't think this relatively small implement is what you want for a 50-HP tractor. You'll probably hurt it pretty bad.

Sorry, haven't found a bigger version of this combo. Don't know if that puppy exists.

I have a subsoiler that I can't put a middlebuster sweep on. I think if I had it to do over, I'd buy the middlebuster and remove the sweep when I wanted to use it as a subsoiler. Maybe you could even put a small spade on it.

Just my thoughts...

I bought a howse middlebuster only from northern tool and installed a subsoiler blade and a stumpknocker blade. I made both of the blades. The subsoiler blade I made out of 1/2X2 inch steel and the other is 1/2X8X8 inch steel. With the bigger blade I drive around draging small, up to 3" mesquite stumps out if the soil, root and all, and the soil is hard as rock right now. It has worked fine for me so far. Can't wait to see what it will do when we get some rain. I've been meaning to post some pics of it. I felt like the Howse was built a little stouter that the KK, but that was my opinion and if it is, it's not much. It was 10.00 more. The MB/SS combo from KK was much higher.
