There is a thread running in the Projects forum dealing with earth moving. I posted these links in that thread but am listing them here as well because they deal with "carry-all scraper earth movers". This is not the "carry all" that we usually refer to, but a small scraper earth mover without the modern paddlewheel we are used to seeing. There are several styles and sizes of this implement. The larger ones require dozers to pull and in some cases to push as well. There are smaller models that can be pulled by an ag tractor and some even smaller models that can be pulled by a utility tractor. They are not as fast as the paddlewheelers, but they allow a tractor to move earth much faster than a FEL or a BB.

And expensive!
A guy I know was seriously thinking of getting one for his large 2000 acre farm and you can't hardly touch one in decent shape for under $10k.

FYI, those are very expensive.

Although they make ones for smaller tractors, they still require quite a bit of HP to use one efficiently

The ones you see in construciton sites require a full size industrial tractor and usually a dozer to help them along.

Some of the biz guys around here have purchased high hour 4WD Articulated AG tractors, and put 10 ft dozer blades on the front. They contract with feedlots to scrape feedlots. Nice winter job and doesn't cost a lot to get into.

As an alternative to buying a dozer, you could get a lot of HP for less money. My guess is it wouldn't have the umph of dozer, but you might get by with it.
