This is my 1st post and 1st of many questions as I am very new at this stuff. I just bought a Kubota 2630 with loader and other stuff. Tiller, back blade, ect. I bought a Kuhn Tiller and am waiting delivery on tractor and stuff. Kind of bought tiller on dealer say so but have now re-searched and can buy a King Cutter for much less money. I am sure that is all the tiller I would need. Called dealer to talk about it, and he had Kuhn tiller mounted but would take it off. Said he had to shorten shaft hook up as they come to long. Tiller would not fit other size tractor now. I told him to leave it on then as I would not do that to him. My question, what is he talking about and is it true. He seems like a fine guy and I would not screw him but just very curious as I have never heard of this. I would save 800.00 if I went with Cutter. This is a great place to learn and I thank you all for your informed input.

Hey Upfront, a new PTO shaft that is uncut would be $100 or less. That is still a 700 dollar savings and would buy another implement. If you don’t need another implement you will find a reason to want one soon. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

By the way, my KK tiller has held up well redoing a couple of acres of yard in hard red southern clay.

Maybe the dealer could just trade PTO shafts if he would have to shorten the KK also -

If not, You can buy a new PTO shaft for a lot less than $800

Upfront, Get the KK tiller and just buy the modified shaft from the guy. I bought a KKII 48" and it is well built and works like a dream.
