Default Universal mount for front of garden tractor?

    Hi group,

I have a 1990-or-so Gravely 18H garden tractor (same as an Ariens). This is a picture (after paragraph) of the front of it. The brackets on the front are hydraulically controlled and go from the position they're in, to about 30 down. Also, you'll notice that it has a PTO shaft on the front. What I'm wondering is if this bracketry is any sort of standard setup on other tractor-types. Much like the way the 3pt hitch is universal from tractor to tractor, is this any sort of universal hookup, by chance? I'm hoping that it is so that I can hunt down a front-mounted tiller.

    Front of Gravely 18H:

    Thanks,

    Ray

chances are that lay out is for a snowblower attachment and probably only for one that is built for that particular tractor. A lot of the smaller lawn tractors have many different emplements, but they are not standardized to work on anything but that machine.

Pretty much no standards on garden machines, sorry.

Rare to see a front mount tiller, one fellow made one 'round here, but most don't want the tracks through the fresh digging to recompact the soil.

I had a Gravely with a similar setup c/w a front mounted snowblower and dozer blade. I doubt that any company makes a front mounted tiller for your tractor. The only tractor that I know of that has a front mounted tiller is Steiner. I bought a 3ph tiller and converted it to a front mount for my tractor. There were a few issues that had to be resolved such as direction and speed of drive shaft. It works great. The problem of tire tracks is resolved by dong the final pass in reverse. This also has the advantage of giving a reverse rotation finish surface.
