Tractor
Kioti CK30HST, Kubota BX-1500,
Talked to Travis Group about a Kioti BH yesterday, he suggested getting one with a PTO driven hydraulic pump instead of using the tractor's hydraulics.

Sounds good to me, anyone done that?

I have a Kubota B7800 with a Woods 7500 BH with a pto-driven pump. Works great. I think the point is that, unless you tractor hydraulic pump is fairly large capacity, you may get sluggish movement, particularly when using two cylinders (such as bucket curl and dipperstick) simultaneously, which you very frequently do with a BH.

The BH pump, and the reservoir, for that matter, are sized to be able to run the BH hydraulics as intended. Reservoir size is also significant as, if it isn't large enough, your hydraulic fluid may tend to overheat during heavy/continuous use (also frequent when doing BH work).

Modern CUTs generally have the 4-5 GPM needed to run a hoe plenty fast. Old tractors from the 60s or earlier often had lower flow rates than modern CUTs. Some PTO pumps are offered with increaser gear boxes to get fast enough flow rates with the tractor running at a fast idle.

There are different opinions on this, some prefer the backhoe to run off the tractor hydraulics. I prefer the separate PTO pump for the reasons stated by Mad, above. I also like the fact that the tractor only need turn the pump via the PTO. Most have 2 speed PTO's and mine has approx 50hp PTO. I can use the higher speed at lower rpms and generate enough speed and power for the backhoe and burn less fuel.

Here's mine attached.

Mad,
Yes, they are the rear remotes that came with the tractor. 2 sets....
One thing about Chinese tractors, mine came with Chinese female QD's. I had to call my dealer and he sent me the males that click into them. (I got several sets) I had the males attached to the hydraulic lines for the TnT. They are quite a bit larger than US standard QD's and did not fit up.

I also read that some dealers set the rear remotes up with American QD's before selling to the public.
